WORSHIP THIS WEEK
Sunday, January 29
Worship at 8:00 & 10:30 a.m.
At 8:00 and 10:30 worship, Don Hill will preach on Matthew 25: 14-30. It's the familiar story of the master who entrusts his talents to three servants, giving one 5, another 2 and the third just 1 talent. In this day when breaking even with an investment is sometimes the best we can do, the parable raises all kinds of interesting questions about responsible stewardship. Mr. Hill's sermon title is "Redefining Generosity."
Donaldson Hill has served as Team Leader for Financial Development for the national and global ministries of the United Church of Christ since May of 2001, where he is responsible for major gifts and planned giving programs. Prior to joining the UCC staff in Cleveland, he served as Director of Development at Andover Newton Theological School in Boston, part of over 20 years of experience in fundraising ministries.
In addition to his work with the UCC, Don teaches planned giving at the George Heyman School of Fundraising and Philanthropy at New York University and serves on the Board of Directors of the Ecumenical Stewardship Center, of Baldwin-Wallace College in Berea, Ohio, and of Pacific School of Religion in Berkeley, California.
At 9:15, Cindy Dallow continues her book study on Marcus Borg's book, The Heart of Christianity.
